Governor Parson Releases Parson Administration Report

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - January 13, 2025 will mark the final day for Mike Parson's time as Governor of Missouri and he's releasing a list of his administrations accomplishments.

According to Parson, some of those include adding nearly 190,000 new jobs and more than $17 billion in business investment to the states economy, achieving the lowest unemployment ever recorded in our state's history at 2.1 percent, cut taxes five times, including the single largest income tax cut in the state's history, reducing income tax burdens by over 20 percent, secured funding for and broke ground on upgrading Interstate 70 to six lanes, built over 1,000 bridges, and fully funded the K-12 foundation formula every year.

Other noteable achievements include Parson boosting starting teacher pay from $25,000 to $40,000 per year and increased higher education funding by nearly 30 percent among other items.

Parson served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011 and was elected to the State Senate from 2011 to 2017. He was elected Lieutenant Governor in 2016 and assumed the Governorship in June of 2018 following the resignation of Governer Eric Grietens.
