4.0 Earthquake Strikes Southeast Missouri

(St. Francois County, MO) There are no reports of injuries or damage in the Parkland after a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck the area Wednesday evening. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck 8 kilometers, or nearly five miles, south-southeast of Williamsville, near Poplar Bluff at 8:53 p.m., and had a depth of 16.9 kilometers. Residents in Park Hills, Farmington, Ste. Genevieve, Ironton and Belleview have reported feeling the quake.
