St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Additional charges were filed Wednesday, in St. Francois County, against 36-year-old Ashley Parmeley, of Pevely, who is accused of killing her two children.
Parmeley is now charged with one count of Murder – 1st Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action in connection with the death of her 9-year-old daughter.
According to a probable cause statement, Parmeley stated during an interview, that she was driving in an area in St. Francois County, on Tuesday, and pulled off the road near a lake or pond where she shot her daughter. Through the investigation it was determined this location was in the 9000 block of Highway E, in Bonne Terre, before driving the girl’s body to the Festus Police Department.
Video footage from a nearby camera, was obtained, depicted Parmeley’s vehicle at that location. Witnesses in the area reported hearing a gunshot at the time her vehicle was at that location.
Wednesday’s charges are in addition to the count of Murder – 1st Degree issued in Jefferson County, on Tuesday, relating to the death of Parmeley’s 2-year-old son, who was found unresponsive Tuesday morning in a body of water in the 4800 block of Highway 67, near De Soto, and was later pronounced deceased.
Sheriff Dave Marshak expressed that this has been a hard time for the community.
Parmeley remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
