Arson Suspect Found Deceased

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The search for an arson and burglary suspect ended last week after he was found deceased.

According to the Eureka Police Department, 39-year-old Nicholas Combs was found in the Meramec River, near George Winter Park, in Fenton, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Division. Combs  allegedly committed an arson in the city of Eureka, on June 28, 2024. He was also a person of interest in a burglary which occurred in the early morning hours of July 2, 2024 in the 3300 block of White Oak School Road, in the Jefferson County portion of Eureka.

The cause of death is undetermined at this time, according to the St. Louis County Medical Examiner's Office.
