Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 1900 block of Parkton Way, near Interstate 55 and Highway M in Jefferson County.
Authorities say 48-year-old Lisa M. Albrecht, of Barnhart, is accused of stabbing a 68-year-old man, a 47-year-old woman, and a K9 during the incident.
According to investigators, the altercation began when Albrecht attacked the two individuals. A police K9 intervened to stop the attack on the 47-year-old woman and was stabbed in the process. The injured K9 was rushed to a veterinary clinic for treatment.
After 911 was called, police say Albrecht began stabbing herself. She was taken into custody and then transported to a hospital for treatment.
The 68-year-old man is reported to be in stable condition and cooperating with investigators. The 47-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.
Albrecht faces seven felony charges, including:
First-Degree Assault on a Special Victim
Second-Degree Assault
Second-Degree Animal Abuse (Class E felony under Max’s Law)
Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Three Counts of Armed Criminal Action
Albrecht is being held on a no-bond warrant at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Max’s Law, which went into effect earlier this year, elevates the severity of animal abuse charges when a law enforcement animal is injured or killed.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the case.
