Barnhart Woman Injured in Accident

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Barnhart woman is recovering from moderate injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 2:30 p.m., 66-year-old Cindy L. Morrow was driving a car, traveling north on the southbound shoulder, in the 7300 block of Old State Highway 21, preparing to make a u-turn on the northbouth shoulder, in her driveway. As she made the u-turn, a car, driven by 54-year-old William J. Spikes, also of Barnhart, was traveling southbound and struck the left side of Morrow's car, which then traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Morrow was taken to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis for treatment of her injuries. Spikes was not injured. Morrow's car received extensive damage, while Spikes' car received only minor damage. Morrow was wearing a safety device, however Spikes was not.
