Belgrade Man Charged in Shooting

(Iron County, MO) A man from Belgrade, 28 year old Quince D. Sumpter, is facing felony charges of first degree assault, 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful possession of a firearm, after an investigation into a shooting in Iron County. Reports indicate the shooting took place Saturday, January 29th, as Sumpter was shot in the stomach with his own, small caliber, handgun. The incident is alleged to have taken place after an altercation with a 28 year old woman on a county road between Bixby and Belleview. A warrant was issued for Sumpter.
