Bill Makes Arch State Monument

(Jefferson City, MO) The bill to make the St. Louis Arch a state monument is moving on the Missouri Senate for a final vote in Jefferson City as the session winds down. The State Representative for the 116th District, Dale Wright, says the idea was brought to him by students in the Farmington district's Jefferson Elementary school.

The measure is attached to Senate Bill 72. In its current form the bill would create a number of state designations, memorial highways, and the Missouri Medal of Honor Recipients Fund. If approved in the Senate the measure would move on to the Governor's desk for his signature before becoming law. So far the bill has received unanimous support.
