Body Found in Mississippi River Identified

(Ste. Genevieve, MO) The body of the man who was discovered in the Mississippi River earlier this month has been identified.

According to the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office, the body has been identified as 23 year old Darris C. Moore, of St. Louis. Moore's body was identified by his fingerprints, with the assistance of the FBI Next Generation Identification database.

His body was discovered floating in the river, May 1, by employees of Tower Rocker Stone Mining Company. Moore was recovered by the employees and taken to Ste. Genevieve.

A cause of death has yet to be determined, as the sheriff's office is waiting on the autopsy and toxicology report.
