Brush Fire Threatens Potosi Charcoal Facility, Evacuation Ordered

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Potosi Fire Department responded to a growing brush fire around 7 p.m. Wednesday, which has since spread and now poses a significant threat to the Potosi Charcoal Facility.

Flames are visible from Highway 8, and authorities have issued evacuation orders for affected areas. The fire is centered around 10380 Fountain Farm Road in Cadet.

According to officials, multiple fire departments from surrounding counties are providing assistance as crews work to contain the blaze. In total, five fires are burning in the region, further complicating firefighting efforts.

Residents in the area are urged to follow evacuation orders and stay updated through local authorities.
