Washington County Brush Fires Under Control, Fire Danger Remains

Washington Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Washington County emergency officials have provided an update regarding the large-scale brush fires that broke out on Wednesday.

Firefighters have successfully contained all active fires, and local departments continue to monitor the situation. According to officials, the fire happened around 10380 Fountain Farm Road in Cadet. The glow from the fire could be seen from miles away, including in St. Francois County. Although the immediate threat has subsided, officials warn that elevated fire danger remains across southeast Missouri due to dry conditions and gusty winds.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and adhere to any local fire advisories. Officials advise the public to stay vigilant and report any new fire activity to local authorities immediately.
