Budget Passed and On Governor's Desk

(Jefferson City, MO) The latest Missouri State Budget is passed and on Governor Mike Parson's desk. The State Representative of the 115th district Cyndi Buchheit Courtway, says education transportation and workforce development are getting a boost.

The budget left the House in March and headed to the Senate at $45.6 billion dollars. The Senate added several appropriations a bringing it up to $49,9 billion. The final version of the new fiscal year Missouri budget comes in at 48.8 billion dollars after gaining approval in the House and Senate.The State Representative of the 117th District, Mike Henderson, explains setting up the fiscally responsible daily operations of the state is a big responsibility for lawmakers.

The budget as it left the House in March appropriated approximately $45.6 billion. The Senate then added several additional spending items to bring the total price tag of the plan to roughly $49.9 billion. The final version approved by the two chambers cuts the Senate total by more than $1 billion to bring the total funding allocated in the budget to nearly $48.8 billion.
