Burns and Worley Receive Public Safety Award

(Jeffsron City, MO) The memory of Bonne Terre Police Officer Lane Burns, and the sacrifices of his partner Garrett Worley, after the ambush that took Burns life and critically wounded Worley, are being honored following the presentation of the Missouri Public Safety awards. Missouri Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe presented the Missouri Red, White, and Blue Heart award to Burns' family during a special ceremony last week. Missouri Department of Public Safety Deputy Director, Kevin Bond, told those in attendance Burns and Worley were true examples of responsiblility and courage in protecting the Bonne Terre community from danger.

The ceremony was held at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Headquarters offices in Jefferson City.
