Business Owners Discuss Marijuana Laws

(Farmington, MO) Now that recreational marijuana is legal in the state of Missouri business owners have many questions about how they should approach dealing with the drug in the work environment. The issues were discussed at the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce business luncheon Thursday with a question and answer session. A representative of the Valley Dispensary in Farmington, Alex Freund, told the crowd it's difficult to get a full view of marijuanas impact on the workplace because state legislators are still finalizing the laws.

Freund explains those rules should be set the first week of February and stores will be able to sell the product by March 8th. The panel was made up of local Attorney Kimber Monroe and Rocky Newsom of U.S. Tool's Human Resources Department as well as Freund. In other busiuness new offiocers for the coming term were installed and a special award was presented to Chris Morrison.
