Car Crashes into Tanker Transport

(Jefferson County, MO) A Festus man, Cristofer J. Yeager, is suffering serious injuries after he was involved in a wreck with a tanker truck hauling flammable liquids on Highway B, east of Butcher Branch Road in Jefferson County Monday. A post on the Hillsboro Fire Department's Facebook page indicates Firemen were dispatched to the scene just before 8:30 am. Upon arrival they discovered a vehicle accident with persons trapped in the 5200 block of Route B. Highway Patrol reports show the accident took place as a car was being driven west by Yeager, while an SUV driven by 42 year old Holly D. White of Dittmer, along with the tanker truck driven by 52 year old Travis R. Printy of Jerseyville, Illinois were both eastbound. Yeager's car crossed over the centerline and struck the rear of the tanker truck's towed unit. The front of White's SUV was struck by debris from the crash. Yeager became trapped in his car. Crews immediately began extrication procedures to remove Yeager from the automobile. He was successfully pulled from the wreckage and flown to Mercy Hospital at St. Louis. White and Printy were not injured. The flammable liquid was successfully transferred form the damaged tanker to a recovery truck. The Hillsboro Fire Protection District and Valle Ambulance District were assisted by the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District, Arch Helicopter, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and the Missouri State High Patrol. The Mapaville Fire District covered the Hillsboro Fire District during this prolonged incident.
