Catalytic Converter Theft Suspect Caught

(St. Francois County, MO) A Desloge man, Kevin Moore, is in custody after a high speed chase in St. Francois County after a joint operation involving Park Hills Police and Deputies with the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department. According to a press release form the department between Saturday the 18th and Monday the 20th, the Park Hills area was targeted by a catalytic converter thief driving a UTV. In the early morning hours of February 20th officers with the Park Hills Police Department, and Deputies with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, converged on areas frequented by the thief. They located the subject in the UTV and initiated a pursuit. The suspect traveled off road through a power line and then back onto Hovis Farm Road where a K9 Unit was waiting. After a short pursuit with the UTV, the suspect fled on foot. The K9 Deputy gave commands for the suspect to stop, which were ignored. The Deputy released his K9 partner, TEO. The suspect attempted to assault TEO and resist apprehension, however, Moore was taken into custody. It was soon discovered Moore had an active warrant through St. Francois County for felony possession of a weapon and felony possession of a controlled substance.
