Chester Bridge Project Width Restrictions

(Perryville, MO) The Chester Bridge project is still in the rehabilitation stage and it currently involves width restrictions. MODOT Area Engineer, Chris Crocker, says they'll remove those restrictions for one weekend while they perform repairs to the current bridge so it will last when construction of the new bridge takes place.

According to Crocker Missouri Department of Transportation officials will east the width restriction for 72 hours from Saturday, September 3rd through Monday, September 5th, to allow large equipment to pass once during construction. The Chester Bridge spans the Mississippi River, connecting the cities of Perryville, Missouri and Chester, Illinois via MO Route 51 and IL Route 150. The new Chester Bridge should be open to traffic in December of 2025.
