Child Struck and Killed by School Bus Update

(Jefferson County, MO) Missouri State Highway Patrol officials are releasing more details about the death of a 6 year old boy yesterday afternoon as he was hit by a school bus in a subdivision in Jefferson County. A report from Highway Patrol Troopers, who assisted at the scene, shows the accident took place at 3:16 on Oakland Hills Drive near Oakland Woods Drive in the Oakland Manor Subdivision off Route TT south of Festus. The information shows the boy got off the school bus and went around the front of the vehicle. He was hit and killed as the bus driver, 61 year old Walter R. Dellenbaugh, of Festus, began to drive away. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
