(St. Francois County, MO) The City of Farmington has become the latest city in the Parkland to put the 4th of July fireworks display on pause due to ongoing drought conditions. In a press release sent out Thursday afternoon, by City Administrator, Greg Beavers, Farmington is officially canceling this year's fireworks show and it will not be rescheduled. Beavers says they contract with a company for the fireworks show so they are able to cancel without storing fireworks until a future date.
As of Friday afternoon Ste. Genevieve and Fredericktown have also canceled, or postponed, fireworks displays because of the drought. Bonne Terre, Bismarck, and Terre Du Lac officials have decided they will have fireworks this year and in Park Hills and the Arcadia Valley fireworks shows are still on for now unless conditions worsen. If that happens officials in the Arcadia Valley and Park Hills could still stop their shows.
