Winter Storm Warning Continues for Southeastern Missouri

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. today for St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Iron, Madison, and Perry Counties, with a Winter Weather Advisory in place for Washington and Jefferson Counties until the same time.

Snow will continue to spread across the region this morning, creating hazardous conditions for drivers, particularly during the morning commute. The snowfall will generally be light, but occasional pockets of moderate snow may temporarily reduce visibility to less than a mile.

The snow is expected to accumulate quickly due to its powdery nature and the cold surface temperatures. Total snowfall amounts will vary across the region, with:

  • 3 to 5 inches likely in the warned areas, and locally higher amounts possible.
  • 1 to 3 inches expected in the advisory areas.

Snow will continue throughout the day, tapering off by 6 p.m., though flurries may linger into the night.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution on snow-covered roads, reduce speed, and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Keep an eye on weather updates for any changes to the forecast.
