City Officials Want to Renew Sales Tax

(Farmington, MO) Farmington officials will ask residents to renew the current half cent capital improvement sales tax in the April 2023 elections. The decision was announced at Thursday's Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon meeting as City Administrator Greg Beavers gave the State of the City address. Beavers told the crowd the tax was first imposed in 1994 to build the Civic Center and then the water park.

According to Beavers in about a month a survey will be mailed to residents to ask them what they would like the tax to do for the community. A rundown of coming events was also given at the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon by the chambers Director of Events, Deena Ward.
