Commissioners Approve Cyber Security Insurance

(Farmington, MO) St. Francois County Government is going to use a different insurance provider for cyber security after their current provider, MOPERM, dropped that service as one of their products. The Associate Commissioner for St. Francois County's District 2, David Kater, says they'll go with a company called Evolve for the insurance and later they may look into self insuring the county's need.

The new policy was approved at Tuesday's weekly meeting of the St. Francois County Commission. In other business commissioners approved the purchase of 4 new police cruisers from Sam Scism Ford. The move will save the county several thousand dollars on each car. St. Francois County used to obtain cars from the State Highway Patrol for the Sheriff's Department. With changes in the Patrol's cruiser program, those vehicles aren't as readily available, and they come with more mileage now that the program has changed.
