Couple Charged with Attempted Sex Trafficking Due in Court

Farmington, Mo (KFMO) - The couple charged with 1st Degree Attempted Sexual Trafficking of a Child under 12 years of age and Attempted Use of Child in a Sexual Performance, David and Karlie Blankenship, are set to make appearances in St. Francois County Court next week.

The pair will have a confined docket hearing Tuesday, June 11 and a counsel status hearing Thursday, June 13.

David Blankenship was a former St. Francois County Sheriff's Deputy and could lose his Peace Officer license due to the charges. Karlie Blankenship worked as a supervisor for St. Francois County 911 but is no longer employed with the organization.

Prosecutors say the couple is alleged to have talked about drugging a child, having sex with the victim, filimng it, and then selling the video.

The Blankenships are being held in the St. Francois County Jail with no bond.
