Desloge Resident Hikes Appalachian Trail

(Desloge, MO) Desloge officials are issuing a proclamation commending Desloge resident, Audrey Gibson, for her efforts in hiking the entire Appalachian Trail. The Mayor of Desloge, Pete Pasternak, says Gibson walked thousands of miles to complete the trip.

The Appalachian Trail is a nearly 2,200 mile public footpath with scenic wooded trails through the wild and cultural areas of the Appalachian mountains. It was built by private citizens. Work on the trial began in 1921 and was completed in 1937. Much of Gibson's trip was filmed and can be seen on Youtube here youtube.comAudreyOnTheAT
