Dittmer Woman Seriously Injured in Jefferson County Crash

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An 80-year-old Dittmer woman suffered serious injuries in a crash on Missouri Route 30 at Bridgewood Drive in Jefferson County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. when a 2013 Hyundai Azera, driven by a 47-year-old Dittmer woman, was stopped in traffic. A 2022 Jeep Compass, driven by the 80-year-old woman, attempted to brake but instead veered off the right side of the roadway to avoid a collision. The Jeep struck a utility pole and a dirt pile before becoming airborne.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to Mercy Hospital South by ambulance for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured and drove away from the scene.

Both drivers were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The Jeep sustained extensive damage, while the Hyundai had minor damage.
