Doniphan Man Guilty of Attempted Sexual Exploitation

Cape Girardeau, Mo. (KFMO) - A man from Doniphan, 52-year-old Rayford Evans, will be sentenced later this year after being found guilty of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor after a one day bench trial in Cape Girardeau U.S. District Court.

Court documents indicate Evans used his cell phone November 17, 2022, to record a 15-year-old girl while she was bathing, and in the bathroom. The victim saw the phone and told a friend, the friend’s father, and then her own father, who contacted police.

The charge carries a penalty of 15 to 30 years in prison.
