(Park Hills, MO) Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are asking you to slow down during any winter weather precipitation events we may experience this week. The Highway Patrol's, Corporal Dallas Thompson, says if you have to drive on any slick roads, how fast you drive determines how well your vehicle handles.
Thompson also says it's important to put together a winter weather kit for your vehicle. Extra blankets, bottled water, and packaged foods that are easy to eat, are important to keep with you in case of emergencies. Charging devices for your cell phone, and a flashlight, are also good additions. Thompson explains a bag of some kind of grit material in your trunk may come in handy in a slippery situation.
