Farmington Sales Tax Increase on Ballot

(Farmington, MO) A half cent sales tax increase proposal, that would benefit the Farmington Police and Fire Departments, and the wayfair internet tax, are the only issues on the ballot tomorrow and they will only be voted on by Farmington residents. Farmington Fire Chief, Todd Mecey, says if the issue is approved by voters his department would be able to hire several new firemen.

According to Mecey the police department would gain few new policemen and salaries would be addressed.

Mecey explains the funds generated would also allow the police and fire departments to be fully staffed helping reduce response times.
