Fatal Accident in St. Francois County

(St. Francois County, MO) A 61 year old woman from Park Hills is dead after a fatal traffic accident Monday afternoon in St. Francois County. Highway Patrol Reports indicate Regina A. Yeaher was driving an SUV south on Route B, near Beck Drive, as 44 year old Douglas A. Lawson  of Hillsboro, was headed north in his pick up. The report states the wreck took place at about 12:15 when Yeaher was inattentive to the roadway and failed to maintain her vehicle within the right half of the road. The SUV began to run off the right side of the highway and Yeaher overcorrected. Yeaher's SUV began to skid and the vehicles hit head on. The truck, and the SUV, ran off the right side of the road after the crash. Lawson and a passenger in his pick up, 43 year old Travis R. Washburn of St. Louis, were seriously injured and flown to Mercy Hospital at St. Louis. Yeaher was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the crash was wearing a seat belt during the wreck.
