Fatal Crash on Highway M Claims Life of Imperial Woman

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A fatal crash occurred Friday night in St. Francois County, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old woman from Imperial.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 7:48 p.m. on Highway M at Iron Street. The driver, operating a 2010 Ford Explorer, failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, went airborne, and struck a piece of heavy machinery. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the driver, who was not wearing a safety device, was pronounced dead on-site.

The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene.
