Federal Government Testing Alert System

(St. Francois County, MO) Feredal Government officials are testing the Energency Alert System Wednesday. If you own a cell phone, radio, or are watching a television you'll receive the message. The Emnergency Alert System is our nation's public warning system designed to allow the President to speak to Americans during a national emergency. The tests will be held during a 30 minute period starting at about 1:20 pm Wednesday. Some social media commenters have spurred false information alleging the test is a plot to use cell phones to activate nonoparticles that been introduced into people's bodies. Government experts have dismissed those claims while others say they'll shut theri cell phones off during the testing period.
