Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - Fire crews from multiple departments responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Wortham Road on Saturday night.
At approximately 9:03 p.m., the Leadwood Fire Protection District was dispatched to the scene, where a modular home was fully engulfed in flames, and an outbuilding was partially involved. Several nearby structures were also at risk. Firefighters first arriving to the scene deployed three attack lines to battle the fire and protect the surrounding buildings. A second alarm was quickly called to request additional manpower and water supply. With the arrival of mutual aid departments, a steady water supply was established, and crews successfully contained the fire without further incident. Firefighters remained on scene to conduct salvage and overhaul operations.
The Leadwood Fire Protection District were assisted by Big River, Bismarck, Desloge, Farmington, Irondale, Park Hills, Pilot Knob, Potosi, and Terre Du Lac. Additionally, Doe Run and Wolf Creek provided coverage during the incident. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
