Flu Shots Available at Health Center

(Park Hills, MO) Flu shots are available now at the St. Francois County Health Center. The Immunization Coordinator for the Center, Lauren Fitzwater, says the flu is a viral infection that attacks your nose, throat, and lungs and it can be deadly.

According to Fitzwater those who are at higher risk of catching the flu are children younger than 5, adults older than 65, those who live in residential or nursing homes, pregnant women, or those who have weakened immune systems, asthma, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes. Fitzwater says you can make an appointment for the flu vaccine or you can walk in and check on immediate availability. To find out more call the St. Francois County Health Center at 573-431-1947.
