Gas Tax Bill Headed to Parson's Desk

(Jefferson City, MO) The Missouri Legislature votes to increase the state's gas tax for the first time since 1996. In a 104-52 vote on Tuesday, the house approved the 17-cent tax to help cover the cost of maintaining Missouri's roads and bridges. The bill now heads to Governor Mike Parson's Desk. If signed, gas prices will increase by 2 1/2 cents a year before topping out at 29 1/2 cents per gallon in 2025. Drivers will be eligible for a refund, if, you save your gas receipts. Parson is expected to sign the bill into law.
