Gus Grissom's Birthday Bash Saturday

(Bonne Terre, MO) A special birthday bash will be held Saturday for one of America's finest astronauts, Virgil Guss Grissom, at the Space Museum and Grissom Center.

The Executive Director of the museum, Earl Mullins, says Grissom was our second astronaut.

Mullins says Grissom was killed in a launch pad accident, the Appollo 1 fire, in 1967. Mullins adds they will also debut their virtual relity spacewalk program.

The event begins at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the Space Museum and Grissom Center, located at 118 School Street in Bonne Terre. Admisson is $15 for adults and $10 per child.
