Homeowner Dies in Perry County House Fire

Perry Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri State Fire Marshall is investigating a residential fire that took the life of the homeowner, a man in his 70's, Monday morning in Perry County.

According to Firefighters with the Perryville Fire Department, the call came in at 7:15 a.m. for a flue fire in the 1000 block of Perry County Road 316. When they arrived, the man was found dead inside the home. While crews were fighting the blaze the main floor collpased into the basement.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and the home is said to be a complete loss.

The Perryville Fire Department received assistance from the Perry County Rural and Chester, Illinois fire departments.
