Irondale Man Charged for Child Sex Crimes

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - An Irondale man, 25-year-old Jean C. Stevens, is facing felony charges for sex crimes that took place at the beginning of the year.

Charges were filed against Stevens November 13, 2024, by the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, for the multiple crimes that took place between January 1 through 12, 2024.

According to the probable cause statement, by the Park Hills Police Department, an interview was conducted on October 3, 2024 at the Children’s Advocacy Center.  The victim disclosed events that happened at a Park Hills residence where Stevens allegedly molested them and performed deviant sexual intercourse on them against their will. The statement says that the child is younger than 12 years of age and the assault happened while the defendant was a guest in their home.

Stevens has been charged with one count of child molestation in the first degree; three counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, and sexual intercourse with a person less than 12 years of age.

Stevens was taken into custody on November 14 and is being held at the St. Francois County Jail on $500,000 cash or surety bond. 

The defendant was scheduled for an initial hearing in St. Francois County before Judge Joe Murray on November 19.
