Ironton Residents Hurt in Shannon County

(Shannon County, MO) Two Ironton residents, 68 year old Julia A. Martin and 81 year old John M. Martin, are recovering from injuries sustained in a one vehicle wreck in Shannon County that took place at 8:50 am Tuesday. Highway Patrol reports show Julia Martin was driving an SUV south on Route H, three miles north of Winona. She lost control of the vehicle and it ran off the right side of the road and became airborne. The SUV crashed to the ground and began to slide. It rolled over, ran off the left side of the road, rolled over again, and came to a stop. Passenger John Martin received serious injuries while Julia Martin was moderately injured. They were both taken to Cox South for treatment. Neither of the two was wearing a seat belt when the accident took place.
