Isolated Severe Storms Possible Thursday Afternoon

(Park Hills, MO) Showers and thunderstorms are expected for the Parkland Thursday. 

A round of showers and thunderstorms will move through the Parkland Thursday morning. These storms are not expected to be severe.

A second round of scattered thunderstorms will move across mainly southeast Missouri into southern Illinois Thursday afternoon. These storms could be strong to severe. The most likely time for any strong to severe storms will be between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Any strong to severe storms may produce damaging wind gusts up to 60 m.p.h. and hail up to the size of quarters.

More thunderstorms are expected Friday, mainly south of the I-70 corridor. The main concern with these thunderstorms will be locally heavy rainfall that could result in nuisance flooding.
