Legislation Sets up Police Commission

(St. Louis, MO) Representatives in the Missouri House are pushing a measure that would put control of the St. Louis Police Department to a state appointed board of commissioners. The State Representative of the 144th district, Chris Dinkins, says the measure came about because crime in St. Louis is getting out of control since Prosecuting Attorney, Kim Gardner, won't prosecute those who are committing crimes.

Dinkins adds the bill would also allow an increase in officer's salaries. The legislation now moves to the Senate after house approval was gained last week.
