MAC President, Dr. Joe Gilgour, Named AACC CEO of the Year

Nashville, Mo. (KFMO) - Mineral Area College President Dr. Joe Gilgour has been named the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) CEO of the Year.

The honor was announced Tuesday evening during the AACC Annual Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Gilgour was one of four finalists for the prestigious award, which recognizes outstanding leadership in the community college sector. Since taking the helm at MAC in 2019, Dr. Gilgour has guided the college through major academic, workforce, and community initiatives, earning national recognition for his work.

The AACC CEO of the Year Award is presented annually to a community college president or chancellor who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and advocacy on behalf of two-year institutions across the United States.
