Madison County Wreck Injures Six

(Madison County, MO) Six men from Cape Girardeau are recovering from injuries after they were hurt in a wreck involving a van in Madison county Wednesday evening at 7:05. Reports from the Highway Patrol indicate the van was being driven east on Highway 72, 4 miles east of Fredericktown, by 44 year old Barolome Salinas Quintas. He lost control of the vehicle and it ran off the road and crashed into a tree. Quintas and 4 of the men, including 22 year old Uriel Quintas, 26 year old Rafael Alavez Zarate, 30 year old Miguel Romro Mellado, and Gesus Hernandez, whose age is unknown. Another passenger, 28 year old Irwin Peralta, received serious injuries. Everyone except Peralta was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, except Peralta, who was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. It's not known if any of those involved in the crash were wearing seat belts when the crash took place.
