MoDOT Plans Bridge Replacement on Route 72 Over Turkey Creek

Madison Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is moving forward with plans to replace the bridge on Route 72 over Turkey Creek in Madison County. The bridge is located between County Road 529 and Route K.

Construction is expected to begin as early as spring 2026. The project will be staged to keep the roadway open during construction, though short-term closures will occur during traffic shifts and beam placements.

Maps, plans, and related materials can be reviewed at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, located at 2675 N. Main St., Sikeston, Missouri.

Individuals affected by the project may request a public meeting to discuss the proposed improvements. Written requests should be sent to District Engineer Mark Croarkin at 2675 N. Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
