St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Narcotics were found during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
According to the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department, at approximately 12:40 p.m., deputies patrolling north of Bonne Terre conducted a traffic stop on the parking lot of the Dollar General, off of Berry Road. During the investigation, K-9 TEO alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 1 pound of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl.
According to the sheriff's department, the amount of fentanyl seized, as a result of this stop, could have resulted in hundreds of deaths or overdoses in St. Francois County.
A 31-year-old male, from Hazelwood, Mo. was taken into custody on charges of Trafficking in Drugs. Formal charges have not been filed at this time.
