One Seriously Injured, One Arrested in Accident

(DeSoto, MO) A DeSoto man is recovering after being seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident Wednesday night in DeSoto.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 63 year old Stephon L. Seidl was traveling north on Route E in a truck, when another truck driven by 29 year old Joseph K. Grimes, also of DeSoto, was traveling west on Sunshine School Road, and traveled into the path of Seidl. The front end of Grimes' truck struck the right side of Seidl's. Both vehicles traveled off the roadway and Seidl's truck overturned.

Seidl was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by ambulance. Grimes was taken into custody for a patrol charge of DWI causing serious physical injury, and taken to Mercy Jefferson for treatment of minor injuries. Both were were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Grimes has since been released from the Jefferson County Jail.
