Outdoor Burning Still Dangerous

(St. Francois Cpounty, MO) A Burn Advisory is still in effect for St. Francois County. The county's Presiding Commissioner, Harold Gallaher, says Commissioners are asking residents to refrain from any outdoor burning.

According to Gallaher this is only an advisory. County Commissioners are discussing the approval of a burn ban ordinance. The ordinance would give commissioners the power to enact burn bans with criminal penalties attached for those who would be caught burning when a ban would be enacted. The ordinance has not been approved.
