Pedestrian Struck in St. Francois County

(St. Francois County, MO) A DeSoto man, 51 year old Eric C. Hammer, is suffering serious injuries after he was struck by a diesel truck in St. Francois County Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Highway Patrol reports show Hammer was hit when the diesel truck, driven by 42 year old Christopher D. Long of Bonne Terre, was headed east on Bonney Lane, east of Route H. That's when Hammer attempted to cross the road stepping into the truck's path. Hammer was taken to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis. Long was not injured.
