Pevely Mother Accused of Killing Children to Undergo Mental Health Exam

Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Ashley Parmeley, the Pevely mother accused of killing her two children, will undergo a court-ordered mental health examination.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed the motion on Feb. 10 after her attorney declared her intent to plead not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Parmeley faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. She allegedly admitted to killing her 9-year-old daughter, Scarlet, and 2-year-old son, Isaac, in May 2024.

The case, originally split between Jefferson and St. Francois counties, was consolidated in Jefferson County. Parmeley remains in custody, with her next court hearing set for Feb. 24.
