Police Honored at Desloge Chamber Meeting

(Desloge, MO) The changing landscape of law enforcement and the sacrifices officers have made recently in the Parkland are on the minds of those who attended Tuesday's Desloge Chamber of Commerce meeting. The Director of St. Francois County's 911 system, Alan Wells, was the featured speaker and he told the crowd even with all of the technological advancements that are available, the future of law enforcement is people.

Special presentations were given to the Bonne Terre Police Department in honor of Bonne Terre Officer Lane Burns who was killed in the line of duty and his partner, Officer Garrett Worley, who was wounded in the ambush that took Burns life. Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert told the crowd the night the two officers were attacked has proved a very difficult experience yet they can't give up their duties to serve the community.

United States Flags were given to Calvert and Desloge Police Chief James Bullock at the meeting.
