Possible Northern Lights Show

(Park Hills, MO) Skywatchers….get ready….for a stunning show.

Have you always wanted to check out the northern lights but can't make it to Iceland? You could be in luck. Noaa's Space Weather Prediction center says the aurora borealis could be visible over a large swath of the US tonight, tomorrow and Sunday nights. It's thanks to a series of coronal mass ejections (CMES)from the sun with a severe G four geomagnetic storm watch in affect for tomorrow.

The best view is from North Dakota and Idaho east through upper Michigan. The lights could be visible as far north as Maine and south to West Virginia. But the razzle dazzle may have a downside.

Experts say strong solar storms can disrupt radio communications, harm satellites, and even knock out power.
